# ☕️ [Task Coins Giveaway] Daily Market Talk — Nvidia Cleared It, Now Warsh Speaks

Wednesday's tape went nowhere because nobody wanted a position into Nvidia. Then the bell rang: a $108B guide, three software names that refused to die, and Apple picking a date. Singapore's number is quieter and more useful. Core inflation just hit a 21-month high. Let's dig in 👇

**💬 Nvidia guided to $108B and software raised right behind it, but PCE is still running at 3.7% with a brand-new Fed chair speaking Friday, so are you buying the AI print, waiting for Warsh, or taking the boring 2% Singapore inflation trade instead?**

## 📊 Quick Recap — What Moved & Why

### 🇺🇸 US — The Beat Came After The Bell

**🔑 Key Event:** The index moves were noise, **Dow** **-0.21%**, **S&P 500** **-0.02%**, **Nasdaq** **-0.08%**, because everyone was waiting. Then $NVIDIA(NVDA.US) beat and guided Q3 to **$108B** against a **$104.9B** consensus, with Data Center up **117%**. The stock closed down and trades **+5.2%** at **$220.66** overnight.

**👀 Other to Watch**

- **Software was not dead after all** → $Salesforce(CRM.US) **+13.3%**, $Okta(OKTA.US) **+20.6%** and $CrowdStrike(CRWD.US) **+9.7%** all jumped overnight, each on raised guidance. The trade has moved one layer up the stack: who turns AI spending into recurring revenue.
- **The inflation print is the real problem** → July **PCE came in at 3.7%**, hotter than expected, core at **3.3%**. That is the number Warsh has to speak to on Friday.
- **Two headlines worth knowing** → $Meta Platforms(META.US) settled child-safety claims with 29 states for up to **$18B**, with a **$10B** charge hitting Q3. $Apple(AAPL.US) set its event for **10 September, 01:00 SGT**, its first under new CEO John Ternus and the expected foldable iPhone launch.

> @Pillar**:** called it before the print, that the beat was never the question and Jensen had to deliver the outlook for the stock to go anywhere.

> @AetherCore**:** put NVDA's close at $225.80 and voted the flat range, on the view that expectations already priced in cap the upside.

### 🇸🇬 Singapore — Two Percent Is The Number

**🔑 Key Event:STI** **-0.25%** to **5,721.59**, but inflation is the story. **Core hit 2.0% in July**, a **21-month high**, on electricity, gas, services and food. MAS has already raised its 2026 forecast band, and Maybank expects core to sit near **2%** through Q3 before easing.

**👀 Other to Watch**

- **UOB Kay Hian flagged the banks** → a sustained Gulf conflict would stress borrowers in transport, logistics and aviation, roughly **7.4%** of exposure at $DBS(D05.SG) and $OCBC Bank(O39.SG), **5.5%** at $UOB(U11.SG). Credit quality is healthy today, so this is a watch item rather than a problem.
- **Exports are still the offset** → **NODX rose 24.2%** in July with **electronics up 112%**. That is the same AI demand Nvidia just reported, showing up in Singapore trade data first.
- **Two local results** → $SingPost(S08.SG) lifted Q1 operating profit **55.2%** on cost cuts, not revenue. $ComfortDelGro(C52.SG) signed two China robotaxi agreements and opened a Shenzhen base for autonomous driving.

> @TheInvestingIguana**:** asked the useful version of it, which is not what inflation did but whether the yield you actually hold is keeping up with it.

### 🇭🇰 HK/China

**🔑 Key Event:** The **Hang Seng** trades near **25,520** this morning, **-0.52%**. **Bilibili (BILI)** reports Q2 tonight, the last China tech catalyst of the week.

### 🌍 Other

- **Oil hit a one-week low**, **WTI** **-1.9%** to about **US$80.78**, after Washington's new Iran sanctions landed softer than the market expected.

- **TheInvestingIguana · 2026-08-31T02:50:42.000Z**: Nice to see that framing pulled out, and it's the question that actually matters here. A 2 percent core print sounds tame until you check it against what your portfolio's actually yielding after tax and fees, that's where most people get caught out, not the headline number itself. I'd rather someone

The former beat expectations easily, even giving a glimpse into the revenue of FY2028 which surpassed analysts expectations by a margin. The latter however, also beat earnings, albeit by a smaller fraction, buy most im

- **TheCollector · 2026-08-27T14:24:35.000Z**: while SG banks have transitioned really well to the wealth business, which has so far been able to cover for the degrading lending businesses, UOBKH is prudent to raise pressure concerns from the gulf crisis. I believe confidence in the SG banks is still high and that's what's supporting their valua
- **NewUser_zS0M8w · 2026-08-27T13:51:49.000Z**: Interesting to note that the Singapore Market has been experiencing dips recently after a strong showing for months, but this won't be too surprising given the ifast inflation rise reported on Tuesday. Moreover, banks are also getting a little pricey, so a small pullback is to be expected.
- **koolgal · 2026-08-27T10:22:22.000Z**: 🌟🌟🌟After $NVIDIA(NVDA.US)'s roar, what comes next? NVIDIA broke its jinx this week, not just a bounce but a strong statement. Jensen Huang with his signature leather jacket walked onto the stage, shrugged off every doubt, and NVIDIA went up like it finally remembered that it is the heartbeat of th
- **Valenxis · 2026-08-27T08:19:55.000Z**: Superb result by NVDA. No sell on news, oops. It brings along many semicon stocks to the rally. What a leader in the current market. haha
- **Helen72 · 2026-08-27T07:39:45.000Z**: A well-balanced portfolio holding both NVIDIA (NVDA) and Meta (META) represents the classic "upstream infrastructure + downstream applications" golden combo. They aren't mutually exclusive rivals, but rather the two core complementary giants in the AI value chain. The core logic for buying bo

All 3 software companies that reported earnings resulted in optimism as their share prices ran higher in the after market and the extended overnight trading sessions. Marvell's earnings is one to watch out for tonight as well.

- **NewUser_Unm6i · 2026-08-27T07:08:01.000Z**: Nvidia trades increase. Followed by the increase of Salesforce, Okta, Crowdstrike. Credit quality of local banks are healthy. - **Heroic Lifesaver · 2026-08-27T06:51:04.000Z**: Nvidia outperformed as expected and as expected as well, the market demands more (sounds much like Singaporean parents 🤭). I will elaborate more in my trade showcase highlight on Nvidia. 😊

This points to clear failures in management and strategy. With Temasek holding an indirect deemed interest, this lev
