# Oracle Earnings Challenge — Guess the close and win cash!

$Oracle(ORCL.US) reports Q1 FY2027 **after the US close tonight, Thursday 10 September** — the numbers land around **04:00 SGT Friday morning**, with the call at 05:00. ⏰

Here is the part worth sitting with. Across 47 analysts, the price targets on this stock run from **US$110 to US$400**. Same company, same quarter, same information — and the bulls think it is worth nearly four times what the bears do. That is a genuine argument about whether Oracle is building the backbone of the AI era or borrowing its way into trouble. 🔥

#### **🔗 Why It Touches Your Portfolio**

Tonight's earnings report is not only a read on one ticker. It is the market's cleanest read on whether OpenAI-scale demand is real, and on whether the neoclouds financing that demand can pay for it.

**Sells to**

OpenAI, above all. The backlog is heavily concentrated there — and since you cannot buy OpenAI, this is the closest thing to a listed proxy for it

**Buys from**

$NVIDIA(NVDA.US) for GPUs, plus a multi-year deal with HPE Juniper for the networking inside its AI data centres

**Competes with**

$Microsoft(MSFT.US), $Amazon(AMZN.US) and $Alphabet(GOOGL.US) — for cloud contracts, for the same GPUs, and increasingly for the same electricity

**Trades alongside**

$Coreweave(CRWV.US) and $Nebius(NBIS.US) — the neocloud complex moves as one block on Oracle headlines

**Leveraged wrappers**

$ORCL 2X Long ETF(ORCX.US) · $Direxion Daily ORCL Bull 2X ETF(ORCU.US) — the same move, landing twice as hard

#### **📊 Where Oracle Stands Going In**

**Consensus revenue**

US$19.13B

**Consensus EPS**

US$1.74 (non-GAAP)

**FY2026 (ended May)**

Revenue **+17.4%** · net profit **+36.5%** · ROE **58.6%**

**Backlog (RPO)**

**US$638B** — up 363% year on year

**The other side**

Free cash flow **−US$23.7B** · total debt **US$218.7B**, up 48%

**Analysts**

47 covering · **82% positive** · average target US$241, range **US$110 — US$400**

**Options implied move**

**\~10%** — the widest of any major name reporting Thursday

#### **⚔️ What Actually Moves It Tonight**

Not revenue. Not EPS. Oracle has beaten on both, and at US$19.13B expected the top line is barely a question.

Three things decide the reaction:

**OCI growth**, guided at 58–64%. Anything at the top of that range says the backlog is converting on schedule. **Capex and financing.** After a US$20B equity raise and a debt pile up 48%, the market wants to hear how the rest gets funded without more dilution. **The FY2027 guide**, currently pointed at roughly US$90B in revenue — up about 34%.

The house is split accordingly. Guggenheim calls it a **"Decade Stock"** and its single Best Idea at **US$400**. Bernstein and Moffett Nathanson sit at **US$325**, BofA and TD Cowen at **US$240**, and Scotiabank just cut to **US$215**. Michael Burry has been short since **US$144**, arguing the depreciation schedules on this hardware are fiction.

Now, what's your take? 🎙️

- **Heroic Lifesaver · 2026-09-11T13:08:04.000Z**: 📍 My Call: US$162.80💬 Why: Oracle’s strong earnings, 121% OCI growth and record $664B backlog support the post-earnings gap. CPI was broadly in line and Nasdaq futures remain positive, so I expect ORCL to retain most of its gains, with some profit-taking limiting the upside.
