# Staying Patient With MUU: The Next Memory Wave Could Be Coming

$MU 2X Long ETF(MUU.US)

I am continuing to hold my MUU position, which is currently sitting at a small paper gain of around 4.5%. For me, this is not a trade where I am looking to capture every short-term move. I added exposure through MUU because I believe the current correction in memory stocks is getting closer to its later stages, while the underlying Micron story remains strong.

The fundamentals are still giving me confidence. $Micron Tech(MU.US)  delivered record fiscal Q3 2026 results, with revenue reaching $41.46 billion, while its Q4 guidance calls for around $50 billion of revenue and approximately 86% gross margin. At the same time, HBM demand remains strong as AI data centers require increasingly more high-performance memory. Recent industry data also points to continued tight DRAM and NAND supply, which could support pricing and earnings momentum.

Technically, I see the recent weakness more as a correction within a larger memory uptrend rather than a fundamental breakdown. I expect the memory-stock correction to end soon, and if MU starts reclaiming its recent highs with improving momentum, I believe we could see another strong wave of rally across the sector. That is why I am willing to accept the higher volatility of MUU instead of simply holding MU. Of course, leverage also means the downside can be amplified, so I am keeping my position size under control and will not chase a sudden spike.

For now, my plan is simple: stay patient and give the thesis time to play out. A 4.5% paper gain is not something I feel the need to take profits on yet because I am positioning for the next leg of the memory cycle rather than the next few trading sessions. If memory demand, HBM growth, pricing power and Micron's earnings momentum continue to strengthen, I believe MUU could have much more room to run when the sector's next rally arrives.
