# SOXL Still Under Pressure: Almost 11% Down, But I Am Not Giving Up Yet

$Direxion Semicon Bull 3X(SOXL.US)

My $Direxion Semicon Bull 3X(SOXL.US)  position is still sitting at close to an 11% paper loss, so honestly, this has not been the smooth ride I expected. 😅 SOXL moves fast in both directions, and the recent weakness across semiconductor and AI names has definitely put pressure on my position. Seeing the paper loss swing back and forth is uncomfortable, but I am reminding myself that I entered SOXL with a mid-to-long-term view, not as a short-term trade.

### Waiting for the Semiconductor Cycle to Turn

My main reason for holding SOXL has not changed. I still believe the semiconductor industry has strong structural demand from AI infrastructure, data centres, advanced chips and memory. The sector can remain volatile in the short term, especially when valuations, interest rates and macro uncertainty create pressure, but I am watching whether the underlying semiconductor trend eventually starts recovering. For me, the important question is not whether SOXL can bounce tomorrow, but whether the broader semiconductor cycle can regain momentum.

### No FOMO, No Panic Selling

At this stage, I would rather be patient than chase every short-term move. SOXL is a 3x leveraged ETF, so I know the risk and volatility are significantly higher than simply holding semiconductor stocks. That also means I need to be more disciplined with position sizing and avoid treating every red day as a reason to panic. If the sector gives me another meaningful pullback, I may consider adding gradually rather than putting everything in at once. My approach remains simple: collect during weakness, avoid FOMO during strong rallies, and give the thesis enough time to play out.

### Still Waiting for That Rebound

Almost 11% in the red is certainly not fun to look at, but I am not changing my entire strategy just because the position is temporarily underwater. The semiconductor story still needs to prove itself through earnings, demand and actual cash flows, so I will continue monitoring those fundamentals alongside the charts. For now, I am still holding and waiting patiently for SOXL to find its footing. The paper loss is real, but the position is not closed yet — so the game is still on. 📈

- **Kellyk310 · 2026-09-21T02:33:42.000Z**: after a drawdown the fund resets to three times a smaller nav, so the dollar exposure shrinks and the index has to rally more than you lost just to get level.
