# MUU Review: A Costly Lesson in Leverage and Risk Management

$MU 2X Long ETF(MUU.US) $Micron Tech(MU.US)

My MUU position has deteriorated further, with my paper loss increasing from around -18% to -27%. The recent pullback in the AI sector has put significant pressure on semiconductor-related stocks, as investors become more concerned about high valuations and whether massive AI investments can eventually translate into sustainable profits. While I still believe AI has long-term potential, the market is reminding us that strong growth expectations do not guarantee positive stock performance.

Looking back, I have to accept that this investment has not gone according to plan. One of my biggest mistakes was choosing a leveraged product, which amplified the downside risk during the market correction. Although my position was relatively small, I did not fully cut my losses when I had the chance. I underestimated how quickly losses could grow, especially when market sentiment turned against the sector.

This experience reminds me that having a bullish long-term view is not enough. Entry timing, product selection and risk management matter just as much. Going forward, I will be more cautious with leveraged products, set clearer exit rules and avoid letting my investment thesis become an excuse to hold a losing position for too long. Protecting capital is important, even when the underlying sector still has growth potential.

Every investor makes mistakes, but what matters is whether we learn from them. I will reflect on this experience, improve my discipline and make better decisions in future trades. Sometimes, the market charges us tuition fees for valuable lessons. Hopefully, this one will make me a more disciplined investor.
