雖然華爾街大多數人預測美聯儲將在 2022 年加息三次，但有「大宗商品之王」之稱的 Gartman 預計，美聯儲會採取更激進做法，部分原因是新任命的委員傾向於鷹派。他還認為，一次加息的幅度可能高達 50 個基點，到年底時，聯邦基金利率目標可能比當前水平高出至少 100 個基點。
