# Starry Dialogue | Grand Life Sciences Leads the Starry Layout of Probiotics

With consumers' increasing emphasis on health, the life and health industry is accelerating its development, and probiotic products are quietly moving from a niche field to a strategic position as the 'industry middle platform.' From gut health to immune barriers, from individual regulation to breakthroughs in disease treatment, scientific exploration centered on the human microbiome has become a key engine in the new wave of health technology.

In this 'microbiome revolution,' Yuanda Life Sciences Group, with its long-term performance and patented technology in the clinical probiotics field, has not only pioneered many scenario-based applications but also continuously reshaped the industry's understanding of 'what else probiotics can do.'

On July 2, the 5th Pharmaceutical Circulation and Trade Conference and the 5th Pharmaceutical Retail Industry Conference (5th Star Conference) kicked off in Changsha. As a representative of participating companies, we took this opportunity to interview Liu Wenyuan, Deputy General Manager of the Marketing Center of Yuanda Life Sciences Group, to further understand how the company is leading the discussion on 'bacterial balance' in the probiotics sector and forging an innovative path and driving model.

**Probiotics 'Play a Big Role' in the Health Industry**

In the early 20th century, Russian bacteriologist Metchnikoff, who won the Nobel Prize in Medicine, linked 'probiotics' and 'health,' after which probiotics gradually became popular.

As consumers' focus on health continues to rise, the functional food sector is rapidly heating up. Functional ingredients represented by probiotics are becoming 'standard options' in categories such as beverages, powders, and snacks, forming a new wave of consumption centered on 'microbiome intervention.'

When probiotics are no longer just marketing terms on yogurt bottles but are increasingly regarded by companies as underlying variables affecting the immune system, endocrine system, and even the nervous system, the entire industry's R&D logic and value anchors are undergoing fundamental changes. Probiotics companies are also transitioning from 'supplement manufacturers' to 'functional solution providers,' not only answering 'whether this product works' but also explaining 'for whom, in what scenarios, and why it is effective.'

As a leader in the domestic clinical probiotics field, Yuanda Life Sciences Group has long focused on in-depth research of bacterial strains, live bacteria drug production technology, and evidence-based medical systems, establishing significant brand and academic influence in the clinical probiotics market. Its star product, 'Siliankang®,' not only performs well in digestive system diseases but has also obtained patents for applications in endocrine system scenarios such as diabetes-induced enteropathy, continuously expanding the clinical value of probiotics.

'The probiotics category has grown very rapidly in recent years, with a compound growth rate of over 30%,' Liu Wenyuan noted. Currently, probiotics mainly cover three application areas: food, health products, and pharmaceuticals, with the total market size expected to reach 180 billion yuan by 2025. 'Of course, the pharmaceutical segment still accounts for a relatively small share, around 8% to 10%.' However, in his view, it is precisely this high-threshold, high-barrier niche that holds the true long-term value of the probiotics market.

From the market perspective, China has become the world's second-largest probiotics consumer market. On Tmall, probiotics have achieved double-digit compound growth for three consecutive years, with a year-on-year increase of over 70% during the 2024 Double 11 period. Searches for 'probiotics' have grown for five consecutive years, with households aged 30+ becoming the main purchasers, and the development of the children and youth nutrition sector bringing huge incremental space for the industry.

If the industry's explosive growth in probiotics is a macro trend, then the current shift from 'ingredient competition' to 'mechanism competition' in the probiotics industry tests a company's ability to integrate across the entire chain of R&D, production, conversion, and promotion.

Whoever truly connects the entire chain from research to the market will grasp the industry's next growth anchor.

**How to Build China's No. 1 Clinical Probiotics Brand**

To discuss probiotics, it's necessary to first clarify what probiotics are.

Liu Wenyuan stated, 'The evaluation of a high-quality probiotic mainly involves four aspects. First, it must be live bacteria—no matter how good the bacteria is, the first criterion is that it must be alive. Second, when purchasing, people look for the 'S' mark; a product with an 'S' code proves it's a biological agent, while an 'H' indicates a chemical drug, distinguishing the quality assurance of the strain. Third, the more bacteria, the better—more strains and more genera are preferable. Fourth, there must be extensive clinical safety trials and evidence.' These standards also form the core logic behind Yuanda Life Sciences' probiotic product barriers.

As a representative brand in China's clinical probiotics field, Yuanda Life Sciences Group has not gained prominence by 'telling stories' but through long-term technological accumulation and systematic implementation, gradually building a brand mindset that is difficult to shake in the professional market.

Yuanda Life Sciences Group's industry leadership stems from three key factors: 'professional products, a professional team, and professional marketing empowerment.' Liu Wenyuan summarized, 'Siliankang is a nationally exclusive four-strain preparation of different genera,' composed of four functionally complementary bacterial genera, capable of treating diarrhea, constipation, and indigestion, among other issues. It is listed in the national medical insurance catalog and enjoys high coverage and professional trust in clinical settings.

In terms of team, Yuanda Life Sciences Group has established a nationwide self-operated marketing system covering hospitals, primary healthcare, retail terminals, and e-commerce platforms, ensuring strong execution and quick response.

In market strategy, the company continuously innovates professional empowerment tools, notably launching the 'Dandelion ATP Training Camp' project, which provides 'professional talent capability' empowerment activities for chain stores, aiming to offer more professional service guidance to pharmacy staff, chronic disease management workers, trainers, and patients.

By combining training empowerment with practical conversion, the project enhances the professional capabilities of chain store staff, thereby increasing category and personnel efficiency. In the current landscape of intense homogenized competition, the project provides chain enterprises with professional talent empowerment, balancing high margins and professionalism, and activating a new engine for chain growth.

From Siliankang®'s clinical evidence to scenario-based operations in pharmacies and long-term R&D investment in strains, Yuanda Life Sciences is driving the development of the probiotics category to higher dimensions, thereby accelerating the evolution of the entire probiotics industry toward 'precise typing + scenario-based intervention.'

**Conclusion**

From microbiome intervention to personalized nutrition, chronic disease prevention, postoperative care, and emotional management, the full-chain innovation around probiotics is driving deeper integration between life sciences and consumer health.

The story of probiotics has never been about a 'magic strain' but a systematic project of health cognition transformation and industrial structure reconstruction, the essence of which is the resonance between science and demand.

See the world in the microscopic.

As a representative enterprise in the industry, Yuanda Life Sciences Group has forged a professional development path emphasizing research, clinical practice, and terminal capability building in this microbiome revolution from the laboratory to daily life, providing the entire industry with a replicable growth paradigm 'from bacteria to blueprint.'
