I've also done some research on quantum computing: Quantum computing is a field where actual output lags far behind theory. The theory of quantum was already well-established last century, and the potential is enormous. Once realized, it would be a disruptive leap in computing power.
But in reality, we're still struggling to build stable qubits, with overly stringent environmental requirements. The transmission, transformation, and interaction of quantum states still need development. But I believe, eventually, this thing will come to fruition—maybe in 10 years, maybe in 20. Just like how people dreamed of flying into space for hundreds or thousands of years, and it was barely achieved last century. Now, SpaceX has already given us many astonishing results.
My investment approach is relatively conservative. I haven't invested in companies like IonQ and D-Wave. My way of participating in quantum computing is by investing in NVIDIA, which is a safe choice.
NVIDIA is the leader in GPUs and the current computing power leader in the world. Logically, if quantum computing is applied on a large scale, it would be bad news for NVIDIA.
But in fact, NVIDIA has been investing in quantum computing, acquiring many related quantum companies, aiming to build a hybrid computing model of GPU + QPU.
I believe that when quantum computing truly arrives, NVIDIA will also be a dominant player in the quantum field.
