A lone lamp lights the wall, the night is deep and still,

Tossing on an empty bed, I count the watches until.

My heart, like drifting clouds, follows the moon's flight,

My sorrow, like spring waters, flows with the river's might.

A thousand layers of thought make dreams hard to weave,

A single fading star seems ready to cleave the autumn eve.

Suddenly, I hear the eaves' bells speak in the wind's breath,

And realize I'm in a tower in Quanzhou, facing life and death.
