# Trump: Will launch stronger firepower strikes against Iran, Brent crude oil surges, gold price plunges during the session

On the morning of April 2, Brent crude oil erased its losses and surged straight up, rising 4.5% to $106.16 per barrel, a gain of 4.95%, influenced by Trump's speech escalating attacks on Iran. COMEX gold prices jumped to $4,825 before plunging during the session, currently trading around $4,722 with intraday fluctuations exceeding $100. As of 9:45, the ChinaAMC Gold ETF (518850) fell 0.80%, the ChinaAMC Gold Stock ETF (159562) fell 2.42%, and the ChinaAMC Nonferrous Metals ETF (516650) fell 1.11%.

In terms of news, at 9:00 AM Beijing time on April 2 (9:00 PM ET Wednesday), U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a nationwide television address on the Iran conflict. This was Trump's first prime-time national speech since the joint U.S.-Israel military operation against Iran was launched over a month ago. According to Xinhua News Agency, Trump declared in his speech that a "swift, decisive, and overwhelming victory" had been achieved in the Iran conflict. The core strategic objective of the U.S. in the Iran conflict was "nearing completion." He claimed that Iran's ability to launch missiles and drones had been "severely degraded," and its weapons factories and rocket launchers were "few and far between." Extremely severe strikes against Iran will be carried out in the next two to three weeks. If no agreement is reached, Iran's power plants will be targeted. "We haven't hit their oil yet, even though that's the easiest target."

Tongguan Jinyuan Futures analysis pointed out that geopolitical signals are still switching back and forth, and market expectations remain highly divergent. Concerns about the long-term disruption of persistently high oil prices on the global economy are becoming increasingly evident, and the adjustment in precious metals is not yet over.
