If raising prices meant you could sell, then the price of everything would skyrocket, even a jianbing guozi (Chinese crepe) would have two zeros added to its price. Price is actually a signal. It's so expensive because the current supply is limited, and everyone is competing with money. It's caused by exploding demand. The effect of price competition is much more efficient than queuing or allocation by leaders. Price can guide production. If the price didn't rise, where would the incentive to expand production come from? When supply catches up, it will naturally ease, though it will take at least two more years for more supply.
