# "Market Attendance Table"

I was originally a commoner, tilling the soil on campus, seeking only to survive my exams, and never aspiring for fame among my classmates. Upon graduation, I entered the workforce, bound by the nine-to-six routine, confined within a cubicle. Each morning, I squeezed onto the subway; each evening, I returned to my rented room. Though my salary was meager, it was enough to make ends meet; though the future seemed distant, ambition still burned within.

Unexpectedly, I stumbled upon the stock market, with its red and green fluctuations, unpredictable rises and falls. At first, I heard of others getting rich overnight, turning ten thousand into a million; then I saw experts in online groups doubling their accounts with casual conversation. My heart yearned for this, believing that the door to wealth lay within candlestick charts, and that life's shortcut was merely buying and selling.

Thus, I lived frugally, investing all my earnings since graduation into the market. Initially, I bought index funds with caution; but after seeing individual stocks surge, greed took hold. When prices rose, I feared missing out (FOMO) and chased highs; when they fell, I hoped for a rebound and held on stubbornly. Occasional small profits made me believe I was a genius; gaining a few hundred dollars fueled fantasies of financial independence.

Later, I heard that options could yield tenfold returns and leverage could bring sudden wealth. Ignoring the risks, I scaled up from light positions to heavy ones, eventually going all-in. Bullish? I bought calls. Bearish? I bought puts. Chasing rallies at open, bottom-fishing at midnight. One day my account turned red (profit), and I felt I controlled the market's direction; the next day it crashed, and I told myself it was just a temporary correction.

But the market is ruthless. It does not pity me for being poor, nor bless me for being diligent. Bad news struck suddenly, causing stock prices to plummet; as volatility dissipated, time value eroded daily. My positions kept falling. I was unwilling to cut losses, yet terrified to hold. Every time the market opened, my palms sweated; every red candle brought hope; every green candle felt like falling into an abyss.

My past savings were the result of three years of hard work. Money earned through overtime and saved from daily expenses could have been used to support my parents or prepare for marriage. Now, due to a moment of greed, eighty percent is gone. I cannot sleep at night, and food has no taste. I often ask heaven: Why do others double their money overnight while I keep losing? Later I realized: the market did not betray me; I simply lacked reverence. It was not bad luck; it was infinite desire.

My nature is impatient. I get anxious when prices rise and chaotic when they fall. I add to winners and try to break even on losers. I had no trading discipline, only delusions of quick riches. No long-term plan, only momentary impulses. So-called 'technical analysis' was just an excuse for greed; so-called 'faith' was just rationalization for being trapped. Looking back today, it is truly painful and tragic.

However, I am still in my twenties. Though my savings are damaged, I still have my hands; though my account is broken, I still have a job. Wages can be earned again, but time cannot be recovered; principal can be rebuilt, but mindset must be repaired. Therefore, I must now stay away from leverage and avoid full positions. Do not chase highs, do not bottom-fish. Let daily fluctuations not disturb my resolve, nor let others' sudden wealth move my heart.

From now on, I will prioritize living expenses, then save for marriage. The rest will go into regular investments in broad-based indices, accumulating slowly. Though monthly contributions are small, time adds up. Though returns are slow, longevity wins. I prefer ten years of compound interest over one night of reversal. I would rather be a dull person in the market than a smart ghost under leverage.

As for past losses, I dare not forget them. I will remember the pain as a warning. Whenever I want to take a heavy position, I will think of my parents' hardships. Whenever I want to break even, I will recall how hard it was to accumulate savings. Whenever I see others boasting about profits, I will remember they only speak of wins, not losses. In the market, survival comes first, profit second. Protecting principal ensures a future.

I am overwhelmed with regret and fear. I write this confession to recount my past. From today onward, I will curb greed, stick to my job, work hard, and invest slowly. Years later, when savings grow and mindset stabilizes, even if I am not wealthy, I can live peacefully. Even without huge profits, I can face my parents without shame, face marriage without fear, and face the future without worry.

Now I step away from the gambling table, tears streaming down my face as I write this, unsure of what else to say.
