I won't be making any moves tonight; I'm planning to sleep early. It's been a while since I got a good night's sleep before midnight.
I've been seeing quite a few videos on Douyin (TikTok) featuring polished, sophisticated women posting their returns charts. Most of them claim to have lost millions, even tens of millions, in July. The captions are all pretty much the same: lamenting the loss of several Hermès bags or luxury cars. You might feel sympathetic and want to jump into the comments section to offer some 'spiritual massage' to comfort them. However, what you'll likely see is the content creator firing back at each comment to soothe their small retail investors, saying things like 'This money was just for fun' or 'The volume is different; I don't need your advice.' It bears a striking resemblance to the 'Arctic Catfish' incident.
Remember, these people post about huge losses to show off their wealth, not to genuinely express their distress over losing money. If you go in there showing off that you tripled or quintupled your gains but still haven't lost as much as they did in a single day with your meager earnings, you'll fall right into their trap.
Compared to types like Brother Feng, these little bourgeois individuals represent a purer form of evil.
