The AI "shovel sellers" just surged, and the US is now planning to ban Chinese optical modules: **a trillion-dollar market suddenly has a new policy variable.**  
CoreWeave, AAOI, AXT, and Nebius rose 11%–19%, but Goldman Sachs stated that buying pressure was almost entirely driven by short covering. Meanwhile, according to Reuters, the US is drafting a ban on importing new Chinese data center optical transceivers; Zhongji Innolight may face pressure, and costs for US suppliers and cloud providers will also be repriced.  
As of 18:04, AXTI was up 6.74% in pre-market trading, and AAOI was up 5.16%. **Watch for AMD and SpaceX earnings tonight; this week also includes earnings from SanDisk, Western Digital, and AAOI, as well as US Non-Farm Payrolls and China CPI.**
