# Agent Unboxed 07 | Micron has reported, TSMC is up on Thursday: where is the chip cycle now?

**Agent Unboxed · Issue 07** | Every week we open up one official Longbridge Agent, and hand you the prompts that work best.

Price hikes, capacity build-outs, oversupply, price cuts — the chip cycle goes round and round.

But memory, foundry and AI chips don't necessarily move to the same beat.

Micron just delivered a standout set of results, and TSMC takes the baton this Thursday.

This issue we take the [**Semiconductor Analyst**](https://longbridge.com/en/ai/agents/v6uoinhnah7um/chat) to check the clock on the industry:

**Where is each one now? Which signals say the cycle is turning? 🕐**

🎁 **Post a screenshot of your conversation with it in the comments — every valid entry gets 288 Task Coins, plus a draw for an AI-exclusive Pro card worth 148 HKD!** Rules at the end.

## 🕐 What time is it for memory?

### Micron's revenue is up nearly 380%. How long can price hikes last?

Micron reported fiscal Q4 2026 results on 30 September (US Eastern Time): quarterly revenue of about $54.2 billion, up 379% year on year, with a gross margin of 86.8%.

More price hikes are still expected. TrendForce forecasts conventional DRAM contract prices will rise 10%–15% quarter on quarter in Q4, and NAND Flash contract prices 15%–20%.

The better the results look, the more you want to ask: how long can the boom last?

**Tap to ask 👇**

> Micron's latest earnings are out. Where is the memory cycle now? Looking at prices, inventory and capacity expansion, which signals are worth watching?

When you see **"memory prices rising again"**, here's a follow-up worth asking:

> **Which signals would show price hikes are nearing an end? Which have already appeared, and which haven't?**

## 🕑 What time is it for TSMC?

### Revenue is already out. Thursday is about profit and next quarter

Adding up its published monthly figures, TSMC's Q3 revenue came to about NT$1.494 trillion. It reports full quarterly results this Thursday (15 October), when the focus shifts to gross margin and next-quarter guidance.

**Tap to ask 👇**

> TSMC reports Q3 results on 15 October. Based on the revenue already published, the company's earlier guidance and the latest market expectations, which numbers matter most?

Once the results are out on Thursday, you can follow up with:

> **How does the actual gross margin compare with earlier guidance and market expectations? What does Q4 guidance say about demand?**

## 🕒 What time is it for HBM4?

### Plenty of mass-production news. Who actually has the orders?

Samsung announced HBM4 mass production and commercial shipments to customers this February; Micron announced in March that its HBM4 for Nvidia's Vera Rubin had entered volume production; SK hynix had already announced back in September last year that it had completed development and was ready for mass production.

But production progress, customer qualification, actual shipments and market share are different things.

Who's moving faster? Who actually has the orders?

**Tap to ask 👇**

> Where do Samsung, SK hynix and Micron each stand on HBM4 right now? Which mass-production, customer-qualification and shipment claims have been confirmed? What reliable data is there on market share?

When you see **"Company X has started HBM4 mass production"**, keep asking:

> **Which customer and which platform? Is that HBM4 share or overall HBM share — actual shipments or a forecast?**

## 🕓 Three clocks checked

Next time you see news about price hikes, capacity expansion or order cuts, just throw it at the Agent:

> **Which part of the chip industry does this news affect? What might it say about where the cycle is heading? Which indicator should I watch to confirm it?**

Let it check the clock itself.

## 🚪 What time is it for your holdings?

Not sure where to start? Start with the chip stock in your portfolio:

> **What are Nvidia's current demand, supply and earnings each signalling? What changes should I watch next?**

Holding a leveraged ETF? You can ask this:

> **What time frame does SOXL's 3x leverage target apply to? If I hold it long term, what factors will affect my returns?**

Post a screenshot of the answer in the comments to join this issue's event 👇
