# EVTank: It is expected that the shipment volume of lithium-ion battery electrolytes in China will reach 1.527 million tons in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 34.2%

According to the Zhitong Finance APP, recently, the research institution EVTank, in collaboration with the Yiwei Economic Research Institute, jointly released the "White Paper on the Development of China's Lithium-ion Battery Electrolyte Industry (2025)." EVTank's statistical data shows that driven by lithium-ion batteries, especially energy storage batteries, the global shipment of lithium-ion battery electrolytes reached 1.662 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 26.7%. The white paper indicates that in 2025, China's lithium-ion battery electrolyte shipments will reach 1.527 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 34.2%, with the growth rate further increasing, and China's electrolyte shipment share in the global market continuing to rise above 90%.

From the perspective of major enterprises, most electrolyte companies in China have maintained positive year-on-year growth in shipments, with companies like Shida Shenghua and Yongtai Technology seeing shipment increases of over three times. Tianci Materials ranks first with nearly 500,000 tons in shipments, holding a domestic market share of 31.6%, which has decreased compared to 2023.

EVTank's statistical data shows that the top four electrolyte companies in China for 2024 remain unchanged, namely Tianci Materials, BYD, Xinzhoubang, and RTXC. In 2024, the threshold for the top ten companies in terms of shipments has increased to 50,000 tons, a significant rise from 20,000 tons in 2023. In addition to the consistently ranked Kunlun New Materials, Zhuhai Saiwei, and Farnlight, three new companies entering the top ten in 2024 are Shida Shenghua, Weihai Caijin, and Yongtai Technology.

Additionally, EVTank's data in the "White Paper on the Development of China's Lithium-ion Battery Electrolyte Industry (2025)" indicates that companies with shipments exceeding 10,000 tons in 2024 also include Sinochem Lantian, Guoxuan, Yienke Tianrun, Hangsheng Lithium Energy, and Shanshan. The white paper also includes statistics and analysis of the shipments of Japanese companies such as Mitsubishi Chem, Central Glass, Mitsui Chemicals, Tomiyama Pure Chemical, and South Korean companies like Soulbrain, Dongwha, and Enchem.

In terms of the competitive landscape of Chinese electrolyte companies, there have been significant changes in the rankings of the top ten companies in 2024 compared to 2023. The market share of the leading company, Tianci Materials, has declined, further threatening its monopoly position, with Sinochem Lantian, Shanshan New Materials, and Yienke Tianrun being replaced by Shida Shenghua, Weihai Caijin, and Yongtai Technology. The CR10 of China's electrolyte industry has dropped from 90.2% in 2023 to 87.9% in 2024, indicating intensified market competition ![Image](https://imageproxy.pbkrs.com/http://img.zhitongcaijing.com/images/contentformat/bc4728000da41ec854bb8454b9204cf5.jpg?x-oss-process=image/auto-orient,1/interlace,1/resize,w_1440,h_1440/quality,q_95/format,jpg)

From the perspective of market size, EVTank's statistical data shows that the global electrolyte market size will reach 40.98 billion yuan in 2024, a year-on-year decline of 21.5%, continuing the downward trend from 2023, mainly due to the drop in electrolyte prices. The "White Paper on the Development of China's Lithium-ion Battery Electrolyte Industry (2024)" indicates that by December 2024, the average sales price of electrolytes in China has fallen below the floor price of 20,000 yuan/ton.
