# Last year, Shanghai achieved new results in ecological civilization construction, with 265,000 new energy vehicles registered

The third session of the 16th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress opened at the Expo Center on the morning of January 15. Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng delivered the "Government Work Report." The report shows that Shanghai has achieved new results in ecological civilization construction. The optimization of the full-process classification system for household waste and the accelerated construction of a closed-loop management system for construction waste are underway, with high standards for the construction of a "waste-free city" across the region. A total of 265,000 new energy vehicles were registered. The southern area of the Expo Cultural Park has opened, with 230 kilometers of new greenways built, totaling nearly 2,000 kilometers. 849 parks have achieved 24-hour access, accounting for 87.3% of the total number of parks in the city. The implementation of comprehensive forestry reform has added 31,000 acres of forest. The Chongming Dongtan migratory bird habitat has become Shanghai's first World Natural Heritage site
