From its monitoring data, **the FMCG market's overall channel growth in December 2024 is 7.8%, with online channels growing by 21.6% and offline channels slightly declining by 0.9%**. Online shopping festivals continue to stimulate and drive the overall growth of the FMCG market. Looking back at the entire year of 2024, the FMCG market **experienced an overall channel growth of 2.8%, with online channels growing by 10.2% and offline channels declining by 1.3%**. Among them, the growth of non-food categories outpaced that of food categories, but the online growth rate of food categories was higher. From the channel performance perspective, hypermarkets are in a period of adjustment and transformation, with the decline narrowing compared to the same period last year. Large supermarkets and small supermarkets declined by 3.9% and 2.6%, respectively. Convenience stores still maintained a growth rate of 2.3%, as consumers increasingly prefer shopping at convenience stores and small grocery stores to meet their daily high-frequency needs. Grocery stores, which have a large number of outlets, not only grew the fastest among all channel types at 4.6%, but also showed a faster growth rate compared to 1.3% in the same period of 2023, demonstrating strong growth momentum in traditional channels. In terms of performance across different city levels, the decline in first- and second-tier cities has narrowed. The new trend of urban-level development has reached third- and fourth-tier cities represented by prefecture-level cities, and the continuous growth in rural areas cannot be ignored. Among the eight major categories of FMCG, **beverages, alcoholic beverages, household care products, personal care products, and staple grains and oils** all achieved overall channel growth compared to the same period in 2023, with beverages and alcoholic beverages leading the growth, both maintaining synergistic growth online and offline. The rise of emerging channels such as Douyin and instant retail has driven rapid growth in food and beverage categories, and the strategy of coordinated development across channels has become key to success in the FMCG industry. Meanwhile, the habits of Chinese consumers in making purchasing decisions in a multi-channel environment are becoming increasingly evident, catering to the increasingly differentiated consumption tendencies. In addition, the optimization of the visa-free transit policy has further brought opportunities to the ready-to-drink and convenience store channels, especially benefiting the urban penetration of alcoholic beverages and drinks ### Related Stocks - [CRRFY.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/CRRFY.US.md) - [603708.CN](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/603708.CN.md) - [300755.CN](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/300755.CN.md) - [300959.CN](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/300959.CN.md) - [002712.CN](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/002712.CN.md) - [000529.CN](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/000529.CN.md) - [002575.CN](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/002575.CN.md) - [600238.CN](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/600238.CN.md) - [002646.CN](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/002646.CN.md) - [300973.CN](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/300973.CN.md) - [601933.CN](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/601933.CN.md) - [BYTED.NA](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/BYTED.NA.md) - [02517.HK](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/02517.HK.md) - [DADA.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/DADA.US.md) - [300094.CN](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/300094.CN.md) ## Related News & Research - [RBC Capital Sticks to Their Buy Rating for Carrefour (0NPH)](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296138801.md) - [BofA Survey Shows Record Expectations for ‘No Landing’ as Fed Chair Kevin Warsh Preps for Jackson Hole Debut](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296270948.md) - [Promising Home Improvement Stocks Worth Watching - August 20th](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296530498.md) - [Shelter Mutual Insurance Co Invests $1.43 Million in Constellation Brands Inc $STZ](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296679354.md) - [Lowe’s stock shrugs off weak guidance after a second-quarter earnings beat](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296374202.md) --- > **Disclaimer: This article is for reference only and does not constitute any investment advice.**
