# Hansen Pharmaceutical: Simiao Decoction Oral Solution Approved for Extension of National Traditional Chinese Medicine Protection Variety

According to the announcement from Hansen Pharmaceutical (002412.SZ), the National Medical Products Administration's website has released the "Announcement on the Protection of Traditional Chinese Medicine Varieties (Extension of Protection Period No. 21) (2025 No. 20)." After review by the committee organized by the National Traditional Chinese Medicine Variety Protection Review Committee, the National Medical Products Administration has approved the continuation of secondary protection for the company's Si Mo Tang oral solution.

As indicated in the announcement, the function and indications of Si Mo Tang oral solution are: to regulate qi and reduce counterflow, relieve accumulation and stop pain. It is used for infants and young children with food stagnation syndrome, presenting symptoms such as abdominal distension, abdominal pain, crying and restlessness, poor appetite, diarrhea or constipation; for middle-aged and elderly individuals with qi stagnation and food accumulation syndrome, presenting symptoms such as fullness in the epigastric region, abdominal pain, and constipation; as well as to promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function after abdominal surgery
