Walgreens is close to completing a $10 billion privatization deal

According to informed sources, Walgreens Boots Alliance is about to reach a deal with private equity firm Sycamore Partners that will privatize the struggling chain pharmacy for approximately $10 billion. The goal for both parties is to finalize the agreement as early as Thursday, provided that last-minute obstacles do not delay or completely terminate the negotiations. (The Wall Street Journal)
