# The three major A-share indices in Shanghai and Shenzhen showed mixed performance in the first half of the day, with the banking sector dragging down the Shanghai Composite Index and computing power stocks rising

The People's Bank of China today (30th) conducted a 7-day reverse repurchase operation in the open market amounting to 530.8 billion yuan (the same below), with the operation rate remaining at 1.5%. Today, 108 billion yuan of reverse repos are maturing, resulting in a net injection of 422.8 billion yuan for the day. The central parity rate of the yuan against the US dollar is reported at 7.2014, up 15 points.

The manufacturing PMI in mainland China has fallen back into contraction, with the April PMI dropping to 49. The three major A-share indices showed mixed performance in the morning session, with the domestic banks dragging down the Shanghai Composite Index. The Shanghai Composite Index fell 2 points or 0.08% to close at 3,283 points, with a turnover of 311.1 billion yuan. The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 9,921 points, up 72 points or 0.7%, with a turnover of 402.9 billion yuan. The ChiNext Index closed at 1,951 points, up 19 points or 1%, with a turnover of 175.25 billion yuan.

The performance of domestic bank stocks in the first quarter was less than ideal, leading to a weak performance in bank stocks. State-owned domestic bank stocks, including Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (601398.SH), Agricultural Bank of China (601288.SH), Bank of China (601988.SH), and China Construction Bank (601939.SH), fell by 3% to 3.6%. Postal Savings Bank of China (601658.HK) and Bank of Communications (601328.SH) fell by 2.1% to 2.9%. China Merchants Bank (600036.SH) fell by 3.1%.

Vanke A (000002.SZ) fell by 0.6%, as it sold 72.956 million shares of A-shares from its treasury stock to replenish working capital and received a low-interest loan of 3.3 billion yuan from Shenzhen Metro Group. The group's first-quarter loss expanded to 6.246 billion yuan.

Retail consumption stocks rose, with Maoye Commercial (600828.SH) hitting the daily limit for two consecutive days and then rising another 5.7% this morning. China Duty Free Group (601888.SH) rose by 1%, with its first-quarter net profit down 16% year-on-year.

Computing power stocks rose, with Entive (300911.SZ) up 14%. Dongfang Materials (603110.SH) rose by 6.3%. Zhejiang Wenhui Entertainment (600986.SH) hit the daily limit.

Silk Road (601127.SH) opened high and rose by 2.5%, with its first-quarter net profit increasing by 240.6% year-on-year. BYD (002594.SZ) fell by 0.3%. Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (300750.SZ) rose by 0.5%
