# Dongcheng Biochem: Injectable Hydrocortisone Sodium Succinate has passed the consistency evaluation of generic drugs

According to the Zhitong Finance APP, Dongcheng Biochem (002675.SZ) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Yantai Dongcheng Northern Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. ("Dongcheng Northern") has received the "Drug Supplement Application Approval Notice" issued by the National Medical Products Administration for injectable hydrocortisone sodium succinate. The injectable hydrocortisone sodium succinate produced by Dongcheng Northern has passed the consistency evaluation of quality and efficacy for generic drugs.

The announcement shows that this product is a corticosteroid. Hydrocortisone sodium succinate is a salt compound of hydrocortisone, which has various pharmacological effects such as anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and immune suppression. It is used for rescuing critically ill patients with toxic infections, anaphylactic shock, severe adrenal insufficiency, connective tissue diseases, severe bronchial asthma, and other allergic diseases, and can also be used to prevent and treat acute rejection reactions of transplants. Injectable hydrocortisone sodium succinate is classified as a Category A variety in the "National Essential Medicines List" and the "National Basic Medical Insurance, Work Injury Insurance, and Maternity Insurance Drug List (2024)." According to relevant statistical data, the sales revenue of injectable hydrocortisone sodium succinate in China's public medical institutions is approximately RMB 188 million in 2024
