The price of glyphosate continues to rise, and the performance of industry leaders is expected to improve
Since mid to late May, the price of glyphosate, the most widely used herbicide globally, has quietly risen. According to Baichuan Yingfu data, as of June 11, the average market price of 95% glyphosate raw powder was 23,700 yuan/ton, an increase of 2.6% compared to early May; the industry's gross profit margin has risen from -351 yuan/ton on May 9 to 1,040 yuan/ton on June 6. "Orders from previous customers are being gradually released, with shipping scheduled for South America in the near term, leading to busy production at the factory. Currently, the company's orders for June are fully booked," said a relevant person in charge of XACIG, a leading glyphosate producer, to a reporter from Shanghai Securities. Several industry insiders stated that most glyphosate products in China are for export, and June to August is the seasonal peak for herbicide exports to South America. In the long term, with the increase in the planting area of genetically modified crops and the gradual withdrawal of herbicides like paraquat from the market, there is still room for growth in glyphosate market demand, and the performance of industry leaders is expected to improve
