# The Shanghai Composite Index closed near its high, with the Shenzhen Component and ChiNext both rising over 1%. Pharmaceutical, computing power, and lithium mining stocks surged

The People's Bank of China today (17th) conducted a seven-day reverse repurchase operation in the open market amounting to 450.5 billion yuan (the same below), with the operation interest rate remaining at 1.4%. Today, 90 billion yuan of reverse repos matured, resulting in a net injection of 360.5 billion yuan. The central parity rate of the yuan against the US dollar was reported at 7.1461, up 65 points, marking the largest increase since May.

The three major indices of A-shares opened lower and then rose, with the Shanghai Composite Index closing near its high. The Shenzhen Component Index and the ChiNext Index each rose over 1%, closing at their respective daily highs. The Shanghai Composite Index reached a high of 3,517 points, up 13 points or 0.4%, closing at 3,516 points, with a turnover of 609.8 billion yuan; the Shenzhen Component Index rose 152 points or 1.4%, closing at 10,873 points, with a turnover of 929.6 billion yuan; the ChiNext Index rose 39 points or 1.8%, closing at 2,269 points, with a turnover of 443.1 billion yuan.

Banking stocks underperformed the market, with China Construction Bank (601939.SH) and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (601398.SH) each falling by 0.6%. Some real estate stocks continued to decline, with Yukaifa (000514.SZ) and Greenland Holdings (600606.SH) dropping by 3.8% and 2.9%, respectively.

Pharmaceutical-related stocks rose, with Rundu Pharma (002923.SZ) increasing by another 3%. Lishengpharma (002393.SZ) hit the daily limit again.

Computing power stocks rose, with HONGBO (002229.SZ) and Zhiwei Intelligent (001339.SZ) both hitting the daily limit. Runhe Software (300339.SZ) rose nearly 10%.

Lithium mining stocks rose in the afternoon, with Ganfeng Lithium (002460.SZ), Tianqi Lithium (002466.SZ), and Yiwei Lithium Energy (300014.SZ) rising by 2%-3.7%.

BYD (002594.SZ) and CATL (300750.SZ) rose by 1.3% and 0.4%, respectively
