# Charging will only start after five minutes. Beijing launches a self-discipline convention for the shared power bank industry

As an important convenience facility to address the public's emergency charging needs, shared power banks have achieved widespread coverage in large commercial areas, transportation hubs, and cultural tourism scenic spots. To further standardize industry development, the Beijing Consumers Association has launched the "Self-Regulatory Convention for the Shared Power Bank Industry in Beijing," proposing nine measures focusing on transparent pricing, convenient borrowing and returning, and efficient complaint responses. Eight companies, including Smart Share Global, Meituan, and Street Electric, which cover 95% of operational points in the city, have signed the convention, committing to ensure service implementation through gradual technological upgrades and staff training. Optimize the pricing model. The rental fee time unit shall not exceed 15 minutes, and the fee for the first time unit will be charged after 5 minutes of use. From the second time unit onwards, no fee will be charged if the usage is less than one time unit. Maintain high battery levels for lending. Shared power banks should maintain a high battery level when lent out and clearly inform consumers of the remaining battery percentage
