# August 28th Midday Review: The Sci-Tech 50 Index rose 3.67% in half a day, with chip and computing hardware stocks strengthening again

The market experienced a high opening followed by a pullback in the morning, with the Sci-Tech Innovation 50 Index rising over 3%. CPO and other computing hardware stocks strengthened again, with Tianfu Communication, Dekeli, and several other stocks reaching new highs. Semiconductor chip stocks surged during the session, with SMIC rising over 10% and Cambricon rising over 5%, both hitting historical highs. The satellite internet concept performed actively, with Sunwave and StarNeto hitting the daily limit. On the downside, the innovative drug concept experienced fluctuations, with Nanxin Pharmaceutical falling over 10%. More stocks declined than rose, with over 4,200 stocks in the Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing markets in the red, and a total transaction volume of 1.81 trillion in the morning session. At the midday close, the Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.07%, the Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.56%, and the ChiNext Index rose 1.26%
