MoneyHero transforms into AI insurance as a growth driver, achieving over 10% year-on-year growth

MoneyHero (MNY), a personal finance product comparison platform under Li Ze-kai, is focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) transformation and scaling member services as its core strategy to drive business and profit growth. Chief Business Officer Shravan Thakur stated that by the third quarter of 2025, the platform's insurance business revenue is expected to grow by 13% year-on-year to approximately HKD 18.111 million, accounting for 11% of total revenue. He also mentioned that Hong Kong consumers are quite receptive to AI; currently, the platform uses AI to help users clarify premiums and optimize choices, allowing users to obtain insurance quotes in just one minute and complete insurance applications within ten minutes. Insurance is expected to become a major growth business in the future. Signs of Recovery in the Credit Market As of the end of September, MoneyHero has reached 1.1 million monthly active users in Hong Kong. Thakur cited internal data indicating that the core user group is young people aged 25 to 44, who value cost-effectiveness and have a high acceptance of credit cards, investment accounts, and online insurance. Although market volatility in the first half of the year made consumer credit cautious, recent loan application intentions have risen by 25% year-on-year, with over 48% of Hong Kong residents indicating they intend to apply for new loans or refinance existing credit within the next year, showing signs of recovery in the market. The platform previously collaborated with Allianz to launch the "Credit Hero Club" membership program in Hong Kong, providing users with credit status inquiry services. Thakur revealed that ratings are primarily based on whether users repay on time and their income situation, with about 60% of members repeatedly checking their scores, indicating a high level of concern among Hong Kong residents regarding credit management. The platform is also gradually introducing a reward mechanism, forming a closed loop of "inquiry, improvement, reward," marking MoneyHero's transformation from a simple comparison website to a "technology + data" driven interactive financial management platform. Regarding opportunities in the Hong Kong market, Thakur pointed out that "trust is undoubtedly the primary consideration for business development." Hong Kong is at the forefront of building a compliant digital asset ecosystem in Asia, which will bring new growth points. The "eMPF" platform also provides expansion space for the business, planning to launch related educational content and service guides on Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) early next year and collaborate with relevant service providers.
