Intel said to be nearing $1.6B deal to buy AI chip startup SambaNova
Intel is reportedly in advanced talks to acquire AI chip startup SambaNova Systems for approximately $1.6 billion, including debt. The deal could be finalized by January, although terms may change. SambaNova, valued at $5 billion in 2021, designs custom AI chips and is chaired by Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan. This acquisition would enhance Intel's AI portfolio.
