
TIGO agrees to pay $118M to settle bribery investigation
TIGO Guatemala agreed to pay $118M to settle a U.S. Department of Justice bribery investigation. The deferred prosecution agreement addresses bribery of Guatemalan officials from 2012-2018, funded partly by laundered narcotrafficking proceeds. TIGO will pay a $60M criminal penalty and $58.2M in forfeiture, enhance compliance programs, and cooperate with ongoing investigations.
