According to reports from the Ministry of Natural Resources and the China Geological Survey, there has been new progress in the exploration of mineral resources in our country, with new breakthroughs in chromite and unconventional oil and gas exploration.

It was introduced that the bureau, in collaboration with the Natural Resources Department of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, conducted chromite exploration in the coverage area of the Salt Lake South Mining Belt in Xinjiang, discovering the Salt Lake 27 mining group, delineating 20 ore bodies with an average grade of 30.73%. This represents the largest mineral discovery in the region in nearly forty years, providing strong support for the completion of the chromite exploration targets during the 14th Five-Year Plan. Chromite is a strategically scarce mineral in our country, primarily used for smelting special alloys containing elements such as cobalt, nickel, and tungsten, and is an indispensable material in fields such as aviation, aerospace, automotive, and shipbuilding.
