Along with its affiliate Kia, Hyundai was once the biggest foreign carmaker in Russia. Operations at the facility have been suspended since March 2022, a month after Moscow's invasion of its neighbour provoked a backlash of Western sanctions that disrupted supply chains and payments. In 2024, Hyundai, like many other automakers, sold its plant to a Russian company for a bargain price and agreed to an option to repurchase it within a fixed timeframe in the hope of one day returning. The buyback option expired in January. "Hyundai Motor continues to provide warranty repairs and customer care services for previously sold vehicles, and remains committed to maintaining these services going forward," Hyundai said in a statement to Reuters. ### Related Stocks - [600741.CN](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/600741.CN.md) ## Related News & Research - [MINEST: Record-breaking production and improved financials support global tidal energy expansion](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296446821.md) - [NIO: Pre-feasibility study completed; improved earnings, but external funding needed for growth](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296445284.md) - [Li-S Energy ships first lithium-sulfur battery cells to US Army DEVCOM for evaluation](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296792089.md) - [06:37 ETSANY livre ses premiers camions miniers autonomes en Amérique du Sud](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296475823.md) - [18:24 ETArmstrong Lee & Baker LLP Celebrates Five Attorneys Recognized in 2027 Best Lawyers in America Awards](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296542010.md) --- > **Disclaimer: This article is for reference only and does not constitute any investment advice.**
