The first set of heavy-duty gas turbine flexible excitation system in China has been put into operation
According to a news release from State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. on the 14th, China's first heavy-duty gas turbine flexible excitation system was successfully put into operation on the 13th at the No. 2 unit of Huadian Banshan Power Plant in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. This is the first time that flexible excitation technology has been applied in large-scale main power sources in China to enhance the stable operation capability of the power grid. The system can add 200,000 kilowatts of power supply capacity during peak electricity consumption periods, which can meet the electricity demand of approximately 30,000 additional households during extreme peak times compared to previous levels
