
Former SEGA President Hidetoshi Sato has passed away at the age of 75
DoNews reported on February 16 that former Sega president Hidetoshi Sato passed away on February 13 at the age of 75. Sato was born in Hokkaido in 1950 and graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan College of Industrial Technology in 1971, the same year he joined Sega.
Sato was involved in the development of all machines starting from Sega's first home console SG-1000 (1983) and the SC-3000 computer, including classic products such as SMS (Master System), MD (Mega Drive), Saturn, and DC, earning him the title of "Father of Sega Hardware."
Sato served as Sega's representative director and president from 2001 to 2003, witnessing the entire process of Sega's game consoles from inception to retirement.
