Alibaba is extending its AI offensive into the software development field, with its cloud computing department launching a low-cost programming tool subscription package that integrates several top domestic open-source large models to compete for the developer market at a highly competitive price.
On February 25, Alibaba Cloud launched the Coding Plan, which includes API services for four major open-source models: Qwen3.5, GLM-5, MiniMax M2.5, and Kimi K2.5. Currently, only Alibaba Cloud offers this service among global cloud vendors.
In terms of pricing, the lightweight version is priced at 7.9 yuan for the first month and 40 yuan from the second month; the professional version is 39.9 yuan for the first month and 200 yuan from the second month. Alibaba Cloud stated that the main audience for this package is the developer community. Users can freely switch between mainstream AI programming tools such as Qwen Code, Claude Code, and Cline.
AI programming tools have recently received significant market attention. The launch of new features for the Claude model under Anthropic has triggered sell-offs among investors across multiple industries.

Alibaba has been active at the model level this month.
Following the open-sourcing of Qwen3.5-397B-A17B on New Year's Eve, Alibaba open-sourced three medium-sized models on February 25: Qwen3.5-35B-A3B, Qwen3.5-122B-A10B, and Qwen3.5-27B.
According to Wall Street News, these three models have set new performance highs for models of the same scale and can be directly deployed on consumer-grade graphics cards, making them more developer-friendly.
Additionally, the hosted model Qwen3.5-Flash, based on Qwen3.5-35B-A3B, has been launched on Alibaba Cloud, with an input price as low as 0.2 yuan per million tokens.
As a native multimodal model, Qwen3.5 supports text, image, and video input, capable of parsing video content up to two hours long, and has been specifically optimized for AI Agent task scenarios.
