Guangzhou Port Reports Decline in February Container Throughput

Guangzhou Port announced on March 3 that it expects to complete a container throughput of 1.8 million standard containers in February 2026, marking a 3.6% decrease compared to the same period last year. According to Jin10, the port also anticipates handling 41.437 million tons of cargo, reflecting a similar 3.6% year-on-year decline. However, for the first two months of 2026, Guangzhou Port projects a container throughput of 4.329 million standard containers, representing a 7.7% increase from the previous year. Additionally, the port expects to manage 93.734 million tons of cargo, showing a 4.1% growth compared to the same period in 2025.
