GAC participates in the construction of the first airspace testing ground in mainland China, with a total investment of over 3.6 billion yuan
The Southern Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Testing and Inspection Center, jointly built by GAC Group (02238.HK) and CAERI with an investment of over 3.6 billion yuan, was officially put into operation in Shaoguan recently, making it the first large testing ground in mainland China approved for airspace usage rights. The project covers an area of 8,600 acres, directly filling the infrastructure gap for integrated testing between low-altitude aircraft and advanced intelligent connected vehicles.
In addition, GAC's low-altitude commercialization process has simultaneously entered the real-world operation phase. Its incubated brand, Gao Yu Technology, has successfully completed a flight demonstration of its first compound wing flying car, GOVY AirCab, in the core area of Haixinsha, Guangzhou. It is currently making a full push towards achieving airworthiness certification and mass production delivery by the end of this year.
At present, GAC has substantially established a closed-loop heavy asset industry chain of "underlying extreme testing - real-world commercial operation," marking its leap from fundamental research and development to engineering and commercialization in the trillion-level low-altitude track and intelligent driving frontier fields
