description: "Gotion, Green Power Morocco, and Chery Heavy Trucks have launched a project to develop a 2,000-km electric logistics corridor between Morocco and France. This initiative aims to reduce emissions in cross-continental freight by utilizing electric trucks, battery swapping infrastructure, and digital fleet management. A joint venture will oversee fleet operations and energy storage integration. The initial phase includes deploying 100 heavy-duty electric trucks, with further expansion contingent on performance and infrastructure development. The project seeks to create a replicable model for lower-emission freight corridors."

# Gotion, Green Power Morocco and Chery Heavy Trucks launche electric freight corridor Morocco–France

As part of the project, Gotion and Green Power Morocco will establish a joint venture responsible for fleet operations, battery-swapping infrastructure, smart dispatch systems and energy storage integration.

The planned 2,000-kilometre corridor will connect Agadir in southern Morocco via the Port of Tangier to Perpignan in southern France. The route is currently used by around 2,000 heavy-duty trucks per day, according to Gotion.

A central element is a battery-swapping solution designed to reduce vehicle downtime and improve utilisation rates in long-haul logistics, Gotion writes. The partners are also working on battery standardisation and lifecycle management to support scalability and operational efficiency.

The partners intend to gradually deploy battery-electric trucks alongside the required charging and energy infrastructure to reduce emissions intensity along the corridor. The initial rollout will include 100 heavy-duty electric trucks equipped with Gotion battery systems. Further expansion will depend on operational performance and infrastructure development.

Chery Heavy Trucks will contribute vehicle engineering and manufacturing capabilities.

According to the companies, the project combines vehicle electrification, energy infrastructure and digital logistics platforms to form a replicable model for lower-emission freight corridors between regions.

Environmental performance claims are not specified at this stage and will require verification and certification as the project progresses.

“This cooperation combines Gotion’s battery technology with Chery’s manufacturing to tailor electric logistics solutions for regional needs. Morocco’s logistics sector holds strong long-term potential,” said Phil Jenkins, CEO of GPM Holding.

Li Zhen, Chairman of Gotion High-Tech, added: “This is an important step to expand application scenarios for our battery technologies, supporting practical, scalable lower-emission freight solutions.”
