# Germany will initiate the privatization process for the confiscated subsidiaries of Gazprom

After Russia's military action against Ukraine in 2022, the German government confiscated the German subsidiary of Gazprom, which is now about to take its first step towards privatization. It is reported that SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH, the German branch of Gazprom, plans to raise between 1.5 billion and 2 billion euros through capital increase
