Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs: Strong Foundation for Grain and Oil Production in First Quarter

Information released at a Press Conference held by the State Council Information Office on April 23 by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs indicates that the foundation for grain and oil production in China during the first quarter of this year has been strong. Currently, the growth and developmental progress of winter wheat have basically caught up with normal levels. The area planted with winter rapeseed remains stable, and its growth condition is favorable. Spring plowing and sowing are proceeding smoothly; the intended sowing area for grain crops for the entire year remains generally stable, and the progress of spring sowing has surpassed 20%.
