# India's NSE posts 8% rise in fourth-quarter profit on derivative volumes

BENGALURU, May 5 (Reuters) - India’s National Stock ‌Exchange reported ‌an 8% rise in ​consolidated profit for the fourth quarter on Tuesday, helped by ‌strong ⁠growth in equity derivatives trading.

The exchange ⁠posted a consolidated profit after ​tax of ​28.71 ​billion rupees ($301.62 ‌million) for the quarter ended March 31, compared with a profit of 26.50 ‌billion a ​year earlier. ​Total ​income rose ‌about 22% year-on-year ​to ​53.6 billion rupees.
