The company also announced that its next-generation AMDEPYC (Xiaolong) processor, codenamed "Venice," has officially entered mass production. This chip utilizes TSMC's most advanced 2nm process technology and is the first 2nm product to enter mass production in the high-performance computing (HPC) field. Additionally, AMD plans to extend its 2nm process for data center CPUs to future products "Verano." Huatai Securities, through an analysis of the performance of 16 major global semiconductor foundries and packaging companies in the first quarter of 2026, pointed out that to meet the rapidly growing demand for AI chips, leading semiconductor manufacturers such as TSMC, Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron are increasing their equipment investments while actively adjusting their supply chain strategies. They are enhancing cooperation with industry chain companies in mature process foundry and advanced packaging, with "silicon photonics" expected to become a new growth point for foundry companies. Optical interconnects are key to solving the bottleneck of high-speed data transmission within AI clusters, driving silicon photonics from the introduction phase to large-scale production.
