# News: So-Young's medical beauty revenue in the first quarter increased significantly, but losses continued to widen

The medical beauty platform **So-Young** (SY.US) announced on Friday that its revenue for the first quarter of this year increased by 45.6% year-on-year to 433 million yuan (64 million USD), mainly driven by its self-operated medical beauty center business. However, the company's losses have continued to widen, with net losses attributable to shareholders increasing from 33.1 million yuan in the same period last year to 49.2 million yuan, a 48.6% increase.

During the period, revenue from medical beauty treatment services surged by 185.8% to 282 million yuan, but the existing platform business continued to be under pressure, with revenue from information services, appointment services, and other services all recording declines. In terms of operational data, the number of certified treatment visits in the first quarter increased to approximately 148,000, nearly doubling year-on-year; the number of completed treatments exceeded 325,800, and the number of active users surpassed 213,000.

On the cost side, sales and marketing expenses increased by 33.7% year-on-year to 131 million yuan, mainly driven by increased costs for brand promotion, user acquisition, and personnel at self-operated medical beauty centers; administrative expenses also rose by 42.5% to 84.5 million yuan. The company stated that it will continue to expand its network of branded medical beauty centers and improve operational efficiency in the future.

So-Young's stock price fell by 16.5% on Friday, closing at 2.23 USD, with the stock having declined approximately 28% over the past six months.
