According to Odaily, Bloomberg's compiled shipping data reveals that since the conflict began on February 28, effectively closing the Strait of Hormuz, 109 large vessels, each with a capacity of 700,000 barrels or more, were trapped. Of these, 29 have successfully navigated through this strategic chokepoint. Although the oil and refined products that have exited represent only a small fraction of the total still trapped in the Gulf, they have been quickly absorbed by the market as global inventory buffers shrink at a record pace. Additionally, many ships have turned off their location broadcasting equipment to avoid risks, suggesting the actual number of vessels that have escaped may be higher than reported. ### Related Stocks - [OXY.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/OXY.US.md) - [USL.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/USL.US.md) - [DBO.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/DBO.US.md) - [VDE.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/VDE.US.md) - [IEZ.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/IEZ.US.md) - [CRAK.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/CRAK.US.md) - [XOP.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/XOP.US.md) - [OIH.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/OIH.US.md) - [IXC.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/IXC.US.md) - [USO.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/USO.US.md) - [SCO.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/SCO.US.md) - [XLE.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/XLE.US.md) - [BNO.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/BNO.US.md) - [XES.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/XES.US.md) - [IEO.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/IEO.US.md) - [UCO.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/UCO.US.md) - [OILK.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/OILK.US.md) ## Related News & Research - [Oil edges up on uncertainty over exports through Hormuz](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296282399.md) - [Oil treads water as US-Iran peace talks stall, Hormuz shipping slows](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296037542.md) - [Commodity vessel transits through Strait of Hormuz fall to three-month low, data shows](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296852213.md) - [Oil set for second weekly rise as unsettled US-Iran war crimps supply](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296555193.md) - [ROI-Oil market starts pricing in a prolonged Hormuz crisis: Bousso](https://longbridge.com/en/news/296182407.md) --- > **Disclaimer: This article is for reference only and does not constitute any investment advice.**
