# Bitcoin Depot Faces Class Action Over $76,000 ATM Scam

Karen and Robert Lacey have initiated a federal class action lawsuit against Bitcoin Depot following a $76,000 scam involving Bitcoin ATMs. According to NS3.AI, the complaint alleges that scammers impersonated Norton customer service representatives and FBI agents to defraud the plaintiffs. Bitcoin Depot, which filed for voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy on May 18, 2026, has since closed over 9,000 ATMs across North America.
