# This California city is adding off-grid solar + storage EV chargers

The City of Long Beach, California, is adding six more off-grid solar EV chargers from Beam Global as it continues electrifying its vehicle fleet.

San Diego-based Beam Global (Nasdaq:BEEM) said the new deployment includes four of its EV ARC solar- and battery-storage-powered charging systems for the City of Long Beach’s fleet operations, and two more at Long Beach Airport for fleet charging.

Long Beach said it’s growing its EV charging network to help lower costs, support fleet electrification, and cut vehicle emissions. Using off-grid chargers also lets the city add charging capacity without increasing demand on existing electrical infrastructure.

The company claims that the EV ARC is the “only rapidly deployed, 100% renewable, transportable but permanent EV charging solution.”
