The People's Bank of China conducted no seven-day reverse repo operations in the open market today (3rd), with the operation rate unchanged at 1.4%. Meanwhile, RMB177.6 billion of repos matured, resulting in a single-day net withdrawal of RMB177.6 billion. The three major A-share indices opened mixed. The Shanghai Composite Index opened down 6 pts, or 0.17%, at 4,068. The Shenzhen Component Index opened up 55 pts, or 0.36%, at 15,646. The ChiNext Index opened up 33 pts, or 0.82%, at 4,089. Among financials, ICBC (601398.SH) -0.050 (-0.681%) opened down 0.1%, while CCB (601939.SH) -0.210 (-2.063%) opened down 0.4%. Insurers CHINA LIFE (601628.SH) -0.320 (-0.963%) opened up 0.03%, and CHINA PACIFIC INSURANCE (601601.SH) -0.460 (-1.451%) opened flat.
