# Switzerland May CPI YoY +0.6% Below Forecast; Swiss Franc Edges Up

Switzerland's Federal Statistical Office announced that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.6% YoY in May, below market expectations of a 0.8% increase; on a MoM basis, it rose 0.2%, also below expectations of a 0.3% gain.

Excluding fresh food and seasonal products, energy and fuel, Switzerland's core inflation in May increased 0.3% YoY and 0.1% MoM.

The Swiss franc edged up nearly 0.2% during the Asian session, trading at 1.2640 against the USD. (da/u)
