# Gil Blum Reiterates Hold on Fate Therapeutics as Early FT819 Data Show Promise but Uncertain Durability

Needham analyst Gil Blum has maintained their neutral stance on FATE stock, giving a Hold rating on May 21.

Gil Blum has given his Hold rating due to a combination of factors, including the early and still-maturing clinical data for FT819 under the lower-intensity conditioning regimens. While FT819 paired with bendamustine appears to drive somewhat deeper B‑cell depletion and higher in‑serum cell expansion than cyclophosphamide, both regimens show signs of B‑cell recovery after about one month, raising questions around durability of effect.

Blum also notes that clinical scores, such as cSLEDAI‑2K and PGA, improve more quickly with bendamustine, and that Fate’s preclinical FT839 work highlights promising “Sword and Shield” engineering designed to support antibody and T‑cell engager combinations. Even so, he concludes that more follow‑up is needed to properly evaluate sustained responses and long‑term benefit, leading him to keep a neutral stance and reiterate a Hold rather than move to a more decisive rating at this stage.

In another report released on May 21, Bank of America Securities also reiterated a Hold rating on the stock with a $2.20 price target.
