# Jensen Huang warned: The tight supply of storage will continue for several years, institutions have significantly raised their expectations for storage chip price increases, and the AXA SPDB SSE STAR Chip Design Thematic ETF (589250) has increased by 96.74% in the past year

On June 8, last Friday, U.S. stocks fell sharply across the board, and today the Asia-Pacific market opened significantly lower. Affected by this, the main A-share indices opened lower and then fluctuated upward, with the chip sector also rebounding slightly. As of 9:36, the AXA SPDB SSE STAR Chip Design Thematic ETF (589250) fell by 4.39%; sample stocks generally declined, with Lixun Micro, Shengke Communication, and Chipbond Technology experiencing smaller declines; Xinxing Micro and Yutai Micro fell over 8%, while Baiwei Storage, Lianyun Technology, and Purun Co., Ltd. fell over 7%.

According to Wind data, as of the previous trading day, the AXA SPDB SSE STAR Chip Design Thematic ETF (589250) tracked the Shanghai Stock Exchange STAR Chip Design Theme Index, which has risen by 96.74% over the past year.

In terms of news, on June 7 local time, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated in South Korea that the tight supply of memory chips will continue for several years. The entire industry supply chain, from wafers, packaging to silicon optical modules, is experiencing shortages, primarily due to high market demand. Additionally, media reports indicate that Huang and the chairman of SK Group announced the "SK-NVIDIA" cooperation plan on the morning of the 8th, involving the Vera Rubin AI supercomputer, Vera CPU, RTX Spark PC, and more.

On the industrial side, memory chip prices have risen across the board, with an expanding trend in price increases. TrendForce has significantly revised upward the quarterly growth rates for DRAM and NAND Flash products in the first quarter, estimating that the overall Conventional DRAM contract price will increase from the previously announced quarterly growth of 55-60% at the beginning of January to 90-95%, while the NAND Flash contract price is revised from a quarterly increase of 33-38% to 55-60%, with further upward revision potential not ruled out.

Guotai Junan Securities pointed out that against the backdrop of rising AI storage demand, original manufacturers' capacity tilt, and downstream customers actively locking in long-term supply agreements, the industry's prosperity continues to rise. The core trading logic of the storage sector will shift from speculation on price increases/decreases to a repricing based on profit certainty, with valuations expected to transition from peak cycle valuations to pricing of high-quality assets in AI infrastructure supported by long-term contracts and visible cash flows, driving the industry's valuation center upward.

The AXA SPDB SSE STAR Chip Design Thematic ETF (589250) closely tracks the Shanghai Stock Exchange STAR Chip Design Theme Index (950162), focusing on 50 listed companies in the STAR market's chip design sector, with nearly 80% of the weight in digital chip design. It avoids semiconductor materials, equipment, manufacturing, and packaging processes, and compared to the semiconductor materials index, it has a lower valuation, aligning more closely with industry development trends.

In terms of elasticity, the Shanghai Stock Exchange STAR Chip Design Theme Index only includes chip design companies from the STAR market, with constituent stocks having a daily price fluctuation limit of ±20%, offering greater elasticity and stronger aggressiveness.
