CLSA: China AIDC Construction Plan to Boost Energy Storage Battery Demand; Top Pick CATL

China reportedly plans to invest approximately USD295 billion over the next five years to build artificial intelligence data centers (AIDCs) nationwide, CLSA said in its report. The broker estimated that this could generate potential incremental demand of 125GWh for energy storage batteries in China over the next five years, equivalent to about one-quarter of its forecast for China’s energy storage demand this year.

The broker assumed this will provide a strong catalyst for China’s battery concept stocks, and that the recent share price pullback presents a buying opportunity.
